Privacy Policy

This policy covers Navigating Special Education: The Parent App (the app) and this website, published by StarrWay Press (we, us).
What the app stores
The app stores what you choose to enter, such as your child's name and grade, notes, concerns, dates, removal entries, and email drafts. You never type in or upload the IEP itself.
Where it is stored
- On your phone. Your information is saved only on your device.
- In your phone's own backup. If your phone backs up to iCloud or Google, that backup may include the app's information. That backup is controlled by Apple or Google and your account with them, not by us.
- In a backup file you create. If you make a backup file in the app, it is protected with a password you choose. You decide where to save it. We never receive it, and we cannot open it or recover a lost password.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. It does not send your information to us or to anyone else.
When the app uses the internet
The app works without an internet connection. It goes online only when you tap a link, such as a link to the book, a government website, or a calendar service. That site's own privacy policy then applies.
Emails you send
The app writes a draft for you. When you tap to send, it opens your own email app. You send the email from your own account. We never see your emails.
Reminders
If you turn on reminders, they are scheduled on your phone. Nothing is sent to a server.
Your calendar
If you add a school date to your phone's calendar, the app asks your permission first. The date is saved in your own calendar. It is not sent to us.
App lock
If you turn on app lock, your phone checks your Face ID, fingerprint, or passcode. The app never receives or stores them.
Buying the app
Apple or Google handles your purchase. We do not receive your payment details. Their privacy policies apply to the purchase.
Deleting your information
In the app, go to Settings and choose to delete a child's information or all data. Deleting the app also deletes its information from your phone. Backups you or your phone made are not deleted by the app.
Children
The app is for parents and guardians. It does not collect information from anyone, including children.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
